October 3, 2024, Garrison Diversion Permit Issue
Correction: work without permit is a Class B Misdemeanor
Garrison Diversion was two miles into Wells County without filing a permit. When confronted with it, they attended the Zoning & Planning meeting on October 3, 2026. Discussion on work began before getting the permit. Any work that is to be completed where the Zoning & Planning DOES NOT HAVE recorded requires a permit. The discussion led to a denial by the Zoning & Planning with motion to send their decision to the Commissioners. On October 9, 2026, a special meeting with the Commissioners was held. The Commissioners allowed the permit, but cautioned any further work needs to be permitted after the one year is expired on the permit they were allowing.
The Garrison diversion broke ground in Wells County in March of 2024. So the Permitting was an after the fact. Garrison diversion reminded the Zoning & Planning and the Commissioners how they hired Wells County Road Department for blading. They were being paid. Wonder how many other roads were not being done while the road Department was busy making revenue for the county and taxpayers are waiting for their road’s maintenance? Just how much revenue did Wells County get from these contracts?
