Taxes for farmers! Jana presents tax information requested by Commissioners on her department. Agriculture tax is at 95.7% which is less than years before of 99%. The Commissioner could raise the percentage by 3% without raising Mill Level. The 3% raise is at the amount that is no notice needs to be sent out. It would be on the tax statement.

Three options were discussed:
1. stay the same
2. increase the ag land value assessment. Average of $6,000 sale per acre by Vanguard evaluation
3. increase the rate by 1 to 3% due to the cap set by state. A motion was made for the 3% increase and seconded; carried.

Discussed zoning of townships.

Ag Businesses: a discussion on property taxes on Farmers sales. Vanguard could assess the business of sales and building. Taxes would be applied based on Vanguard assessment. Many seed sales could be $100,000 and grain bin of products assessed.

Sheriff and deputy gave report of 2024 cases were 93. Storage of evidence was discussed.

Water Board conflict continues while settlement of former States Attorney comes to a closure.

In the meantime, The Auditor states that people want a say on who their States Attorney is and it makes no sense. Read on.

Larry from Water Board makes his case to the Commissioners with engineer online and supporters in attendance. Commissioner fends off accusations of impartial support for the citizen with the complaint.

Chairman of commissioners tells Water Board supporter to give the newspaper, Herald Press, their written words to see what they can do. Inconclusion, the Commissioners voted for Larry to keep his job.

Agenda included Elections, Bills, Balance Sheet, Taxes increase and the Primary Residential Credit. Auditor states that some people did not complete the application and they are mad. Dan states it is on them.

District Health, JDA, Planning & Zoning, School district, Weed Board has positional terms up. time to appoint position. Planning & Zoning stated that they will reappoint Dan Stutlein.

Pay rate of these committees and the Water Board rate are different due to Century code regulates the Water Board. Voted to increase rate of the Zoning Board to $50.00/month.

Century code has County States Attorney as an elected position. Dan makes an argument for appointment.

Century code 11-10-02.3 prevents the Commissioners from appointing the position of States Attorney without a ballot of majority of the people. The Auditor states that people want a say on who their States Attorney is and it makes no sense.
