The Video begins with Nelson speaking on Taxes.

  • User fee, strike out and flex funding formulas

Nelson calls for townships to give them rural support in gas tax because the bigger areas are fighting it. He presents the gas tax as additional revenue for the much needed roads repairs; however, the bill was taxing non electric vehicles that is being fought.

Nelson states that there is POTENTIAL for electric vehicles to be taxed. Potential is a long ways from being done.

Note: The government keeps coming up with new ways to tax the people for more things. The state government gives bridges to the county. The county talks about giving the bridges over to the townships. Yet, the state is increasing taxes in order for the local to get the basic needed maintenance on roads and bridges. A portion of the taxes are saved for the state to get into deals that benefit other states or federal waste like lonetree, garrison diversion and now the pipeline. Then they tax us with ongoing taxes for these projects. Many of which are abandon or otherwise.

Weisz spoke about property tax program he created. No applications to get it. People will save 30% on their property tax. So he says; however, the cap is set, except, the property assessment can be raised which will raise the cap. Now, we see Wells County Auditor talking to board to raise assessments again. So, the 30% savings is not a savings when County assessments are raised. The 3 amigos, Nelson, Klein and Weisz, say it is the counties that take your savings away and the county Commissions and auditors say, the state tells them to raise in order to pay bills which by the ways they were given by the state to cover.

Questions from Audience: How much more do we pay for the lonetree and garrison diversion? Weisz said we pay 180 million every 3 years until our State's committed amount is done. Weisz said, "No way to stop it!" No water/ feds dropped the project and took land but we keep paying. If the feds breached their contract, why are we not Sueing them as the state verses keep paying? Same with the discussion on the DAM. ND put 8 million dollars on control Missouri River.

This is another fine example of our State legislators and senators wasting the people's money. Weisz states, "ND had first water rights, now other states are challenging our rights and putting our water rights at risk." Of course, Weisz states Hoeven deal and Hoeven is trying to get 450 million POTENTIALS.

EXCUSES: Weisz states that LOCAL LEGISLATORS have to USE STATEWIDE PERPECTIVE. How much do you want to bet the STATEWIDE PERSPECTIVE OF THE PEOPLE is not to waste our taxes? Weisz states that ND water maybe routed to Nebraska. How is that statewide perspective?

Question: Someone asked for the lawsuit against Federal for reneging on projects that they contracted with ND. Have we ever? Weisz said no. Tracy S. from DOT states that she and Ben are available to townships to fill out paperwork. Call her 701-328-5073. She states that 1/2 of motor Vehicle tax in flex fund for all townships.

According to https://www.ndtoa.com/image/cache/WHA... there are 2, 045 townships in ND. She states that there is 28 million for townships out of the total 84 million dollars of flex fund. Of the 28 million there is 1/2 designated for non-oil productive allocations. Need to apply and she and Ben will help.
