September 4, 2025 Wells County Public Hearing
Currently the Recorder's position in Wells County is an elected position. The Auditor and Commissioners want to change that position to an appointed position. Dan plans on adding this responsibility to his job descriptions. That means higher wage for him, more of his focus split between his current position of an auditor of the county. Dan and the Commissioners feel and they have said, that the people are not capable of making the decision of voting for an Recorder. Who knows who will run for the position; however, They fill that they could appoint the position because Dan plans on filling the position with himself. See previous videos on this discussion.
The important point of this move is the People will be loosing another position of election . The Commissioner quietly appointed Dan before the ballot came up for his position previously. The People lost their voice and vote there. Do you want to lose another elected position?
If your local government thinks so little of you, why do you keep them in office? There words speak to you as if you are slaves verses intelligent equals.
