The independent evaluator spoke of strain on relationship between Dr. Hardings and Dr. Luken over AI tool used for communication. It was Dr. Hardings grievance, yet the author focuses on Dr. Harding in order to defend Dr. Luken's behavior.

The board went into executive session to discuss whether to allow Dr. Luken to continue to use AI for communication.

Strategic planning is missing as a foundation to build upon. Work was formed but not completed.

Team discussed Coginia, MyJourney programs. Dr. Lukens asked for a clear direction for the purpose of evaluation of individuals coming into these programs.

Vanessa A. and another member expressed the need to focus on this year plan verses focus on building future resources. Once current need is met, they could explore further.

Bret informed the Team of his current situation of a student that speaks no English. He was informed from another area of our state is currently seeing this wave at a larger scale. He emphasizes that it is coming to Harvey. Bret made an appeal to the team about the difficulties for the student and the teachers when not prepared. Even classroom equal time becomes difficult.

The Program ELL (English Language Learners Program) coordinator maybe necessary in Harvey. Currently a para is using her Spanish speaking skills to communicate with new student. ELP (Extended Learning Programs) were mentioned in the discussion.

Dr. Luken asked to speak with individuals about creation of a new position. Team agreed to speak with them, but nothing on created position.

Taxes discussion about divided lots. Place a minimum on them. If there are 3 divided lots and 2 under 25.00, make though 2 lots 25.00 each bringing them up to a minimum.

Portfolio discussion continues: Taxes, assessments and negative talk Local States attorney inherited a case and lost it. Commissioners give encouragement.

Discussion on all the ways the County taxes can be paid. Credit Cards, online payment, monthly payment and more. All the processing fees are paid by the tax payers but they are available.

Venting about the limits placed on the county for tax resources. How are they suppose to lower the tax with the state programs and cope with it? (I thought the state programs lowered taxes through sif funds and legacy fund. There should not be any coping to deal with?)

Discussion of lobbying local legislatures to make the changes through law that they cannot make now. Dan will email the County Associations their wants.

Changes such as 1 sheriff for 5 counties and 1 States Attorney elected position changed to appointed because what do the people really know? (The States Attorney is an elected position due to the constitution. Because they slipped Auditor through without following the Century code of 60% ballot vote, they think they can do it again or get legislators to do so.)

Talk about assessments again. Comments about people cheating on paying taxes. Farmers have a million dollar house and don't pay. Coffee Talk, how is that fair? (A former commissioner and some of these commissioners called this a grey area when a commissioner was living in the wrong district that he was sitting chair for before. Funny now they interpret it as cheating for the farmers which is actual law right now. So, grey areas are ok for them but following the law advantage are not for the people?)

Stan suggested moving meeting back to Dan's office. (This will prevent some people from coming because of no seating available.) They said they can move to the courtroom if more people come. Another Commissioner said he liked it better in the KTL building.
