ND CTE School Board Promises interviews Part 1 of 2 Final 2024

We the People of Harvey did our dual diligence collecting videos and sections dealing with CTE Centers (Career Technical Education Center). Our community had it's first introduction to a CTE center in 2024 Bond Referendum.

Not a lot of information was exposed at that time. People forget what was said once the event is over. With each open meeting recorded that followed that mention "gathering information" was being done by Dr. Lukens then reporting back to the board. Some members of the board expressed Dr. Lukens Travel time removed him from the school and availability.

Since the boards interest in CTE continued, it lead us to do our own investigation on CTE draw of Dr. Lukens. Beginning with Rocky Mtn. ADA Center, interviews peaked our interest to dig a little more on the topic. Try to watch both Part 1 and Part 2 close together for retention purposes. Enjoy the fruit of our labor.

(The Bond Referendum videos were recorded between April and June 2024. The other video is available on YouTube with the date 10-16-24. Additionally, the Audio ADA recording took place in either April or May 2024, and the CTE audio was recorded on 11-12-24.)

Guardrail policy was discussed. Financial guardrail included limits and guidelines for the Superintendent and Business Manager reports for better management of budget variables. Review and memory of previously discussed guardrails seemed to vary from speakers at the table. (Perhaps, the Business Manager or another scribe could type them up so they have them to carry over to the next meeting) The Texas person online explored many angles to suggest changes in decided guardrail.

Discussion on questions submitted by teachers for a survey. The Board will review them and create more questions of their own. Motioned; carried to postpone until next week's meeting giving them time to plan their own questions.

Next week meeting will be January 28, 2025 at 7am. The board closed meeting with intention to recess at 8am for the Texas host of Guardrail policy.

The meeting begins with accepting another letter of resignation. Then there was discussion of Dr. Harding's resignation date of 2/7/25. Motion and carried to pay her contact days.

No Principle: Motioned and carried to open the position up and open negotiations. Need to fill the position. Letter of retirement: 5/25/25 Sue Faul will retire. Another open position. Motioned; carried; to accept her retirement with thank you for service.

Teacher Training CBI: January 31, 2025; short notice for parents.

Business Manager: issue on misc. check from DPI discussion. Continued to ask board for raise of Assist. Business Manager, probation period ended; $1.00/hr raise with limited to 20 hrs. BM asked for Assit. BM to be given authority to discuss accounts with the bank. (Colette seems to explain what BM is saying. How often is she there to know more than the rest of the board of administration activities? Is there a conflict of interest being hidden?)

Dr. Luken Recommendation on Title I DHBC Policy. Offer 2.5 contract.
